motorcycle Racing England why do people from south of england never do well in isle of man TT?
Ive watched the isle of man TT for many years, it is the worlds most dangerous race, those who compete in this event all deserve respect, its the ultimate test on a motorcycle in many ways, I speak to many friend from UK and I have noticed that almost all the competitors are from the northern part of england, Ireland, wales and scotland, I dont see any of those competitors interviewed having a southern accent although I know the TT is popular in south as well, my friends who go to TT each year tell me this is because the people from south are as they say "southern softies", I do find this hard to believe so I sought out to prove them thinking there would be many famous TT racers from south England during the 100 year history, I cant find any, why is this? 100 years is a long time
It's from the fog off The Channel.
For more than 150 years the French have been dumping their crappy champagne off the north, the currents draw the odor towards the UK and it mixes with the fog. The combination of the two makes the oxygen level lower thus limiting the growth of balls (can't argue, it takes balls to ride The Mann).
Further research indicates that the hull of the Titanic was weaken by an algae that formed from that same champagne in the Channel (or La Manche, which is French for The Dump).
So try not to blame the poor Southern Softies too much, put the blame on the French!
Authentic harley davidson Is There A Problem With My Zippo?
I bought a used "Zippo" from a good friend. She wanted to get rid of it.
It's apparently a Harley Davidson lighter, but I Googled "Harley Davidson Zippos" but couldn't find this design!
It appears the be authentic, insert and case bottom stamp say : L 06
I think it's got the click, the case has a V-Twin engine, with an eagle perched on top. it says: Harley Davidson Motorcycles
is this a real design? or a clever rippo? I can't seem to find a pic anywhere
Thanks
* I have checked the Zippo main site, and several other sites that sell their lighters. But I cannot find this exact lighter in any of them.
My friend told me her brother bought it in the local mall, and she has the Zippo box it came with.
Have you tried the Zippo site? Here's a link:http://www.zippo.com/index.aspx?bhcp=1 click through to the third page. Some Zippos were custom made for companies, Harley Davidson is one of the more popular ones.
Authentic harley Looking for the best diner in Jersey..?
My boyfriend and I want to take the Harley to Jersey and go to an authentic diner. We live in PA right over the Commodore Barry Bridge. We kind of got the idea from the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Any ideas?
the Suburban Diner in Paramus is great. most NJ diners are great. it's the "Diner State"....here in FL we have nothing.
If someone were able to transport a 5000 dollar Harley to japan, what price do you believe it would command?
How many Yen does a used Harley go for. They seem to like the sportster. The youtube video coming out of Japan of Harley owners is great. and they are not your average American type it seems...i.e. fat, ugly, and high credit card limit type folks. Just wondering. Thanks for the info.
example, you can buy a sportster 883 that is 5 years old for about 4500-5000 dollars, almost no blemishes. would that get like equal to 10k there?? or has Harley tackled that market too with dealerships etc.
clarrification:
HOW MUCH ARE HARLEYS GOING FOR IN JAPAN. SPECIFICALLY THE TYPES MENTIONED ABOVE.
I looked up a brand new sportster 883l in Japan
935000 yen, that is about 8k U.S.
so it is the same....I thought for sure it would be different.
I've tried looking at the local classifieds but I don't see any Harleys for sale, so I can't really tell you if you'd get more than the $5000 your harley is worth. However, there are Harley Davidsons dealers in Japan, so it's not like you won't have any competition in selling a vehicle on the economy. Wish I could give a better answer, but I think you'll probably sell the Harley for $5000 more or less (600000 yen)
