motorcycle Parking
Question about parking a motorcycle?
Newbie question. Out of curiosity, when you park your motorcycle in a public parking lot, what is stopping anyone from walking up and putting it in neutral and pushing it away? Is there some kind of security mechanism to prevent this that I'm not aware of?
Also, when you park your bike, should you park it in neutral or should you put it in 1st gear before killing the engine?
for a start if you dont have a lock you should put the steering lock on not that its any good ( 1 quick turn of the bars & its broke)
buy a good chain or d lock & lock bike to somthing to stop it going,

Parking my motorcycle on gravel?
I just purchased a 2006 Honda Shadow and its beautiful. The only problem is the apartment that I live only has a gravel driveway. There is no parking outside besides using the sidewalk. My last bike got a little banged up from kids walking by and touching it so I would much rather park my new bike in the driveway. I have been told repeatedly that I can not drive my bike or park it on gravel. Does anyway have any suggestions to what I can do?
get a peice of wood or rubber about 6in x 6in and put it under your kickstand. it'll disperse the weight over a larger surface area and prevent it from sinking. trust me it works i use it and about 99% of all bikers do
