Do flyscreen windshields do anything ?
I have a Harley Davidson sportster. I am thinking about getting a windshield for it, but I don't really like the way they look. National Cycle makes a small windshield called a flyscreen that is only 9 inches tall. I just want something to keep the bugs off my face. My question is does it really do anything ?
yes they do work, if adjusted properly. The angle of the windshield should be that of the forks and the height should be adjusted so that the wind (and insects) are directed just over your head. Take a ride and hold your your hand up to feel the height of the wind, if it is not going over your head, then the windshield must be raised. Check out windvest.com, they probably have what you're looking for.

30 inch Front wheel on a Roadglide Harley FLTR
103 Harley Upgrade?
I have a 2007 Harley Davidson Softail Custom. I am doing a 103 cubic inch upgrade and would like to get at least 115 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheel when I am done. I currently am running with Rhinehart pipes and a SE air cleaner. My local dealer says that he does not think he can get me that much torque from the 103 big bore kit and cyllinders, aggressive gear driven cams, and an SE race tuner. Any ideas how I can get at least that much power without having to run on race gas? I mentioned having head work done, but he said he has not seen numbers that high from previous customers that have had head work done.
instead of asking here, i highly suggest that u rap with other harley owners that's lookin to get as much power as possible out of their scoots by swapping ideas, dyno #'s, etc. u will never get a straight answer on here.
