2007 harley davidson Nightster?
I was changing the oil on my brothers harley, or so I though. I unscrewed the plug that I assumed was the oil plug and a fluid just a hair lighter then oil came out. The plug was located on the left side of the bike about six inches back and to the right of the clutch....anyone know what it was????!!
Next time buy a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL!!!!
If you don't know what your doing, you can do more damage than good....sometimes in the THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. I have been working on HD's for 20 years and I can't tell you how many times I have had to rebuild engines and sometimes even the whole entire bike because the bike owners THINK they can do their own work.
The other guys are right, it was the Primary/Trans Oil you drained out. The BEST fluid for that is HD's Formula + fluid.
When you fill the ENGINE OIL TANK....let a couple ounces of fresh oil drain out from the drain hose, then plug the hose back off. Fill the oil tank to about an inch below the filler neck, start the bike, ride it about 2 miles, shut it off, let sit for about 2 minutes, then check the oil level WITH THE BIKE UPRIGHT AND LEVEL and fill as needed. Letting fresh oil drain through the hose will remove any air the hose and prevent any air from getting into the oil pump and causing cavitation.
Oh, by the way, the ENGINE OIL DRAIN HOSE is located under the bike on the left side BEHIND THE PRIMARY, it should be attached to the frame by a clip.

My 113 cubic inch Harley FLSTSB cross bones sold
I want to sell photos I take of Harley Motorcycles - is it copy/trademark infringement?
I want to sell photos of Harley Motorcycles - some may just be parts of the bike - others may happen to have the Harley logo or other Harley insignia in it as the logo is on almost every square inch of the bike. I will only be refrencing them as "Hog" photos or as the type of bike I photograph but not as Harley endorsed photos. Does it violate any copyright or trademark infringements?
