Harley Davidson Rider called a BMW a "Rice Burner" Is that HD Rider stupid or what?
isn't it really stupid that that HD Owner doesn't know a BMW is made in Germany?
Why I ask the question is how can someone that stupid be able to afford a Harley Davidson?
I always figure the uneducated don't have the money the educated do.
The sad fact of the matter is I'm sure you hit the nail on the head.Whats going on in the Harley click is nothing like the way of life I fell into in my youth.Back then you were rude,crude,and tattooed!Most guys were ex military vietnam vets.The rest were either guys so outcast from society That even the military didn't want them,or large in size and less than mental giants.Now all my old friends are dying off and this is the crap I'm left with.That way of life has gone the way of the dinosaur,all that remains or a few old fossils here and there.And a bunch of guys that as kids both feared and envied us.Now that they have bucks,they are coming out in droves trying to imitate what they saw as kids standing on the side of the road.The problem with that is they left out the main ingredient, the way of life and the unwritten biker code and creed.What remains is at best a imitation of the original.I like to call it instant bikers,just add cash!Anyway,I don't really give a rats ass what you ride,long as your in the wind.So keep the rubber side down and remember rule number1#,You don't have to tell on yourself according to unwritten biker code and creed.Oh, and the stupid part that said Harley rider displayed is due to the fact that they don't need to know nothing about motorcycles they just pay to have it done.That brings to mind unwritten biker code and creed number2#,Nobody,unless they are packing "P", touches your bike but you for any reason.Not even to wrench on it.Real bikers wrench and build there own.

Does Harley Davidson have a secret V-Four in the works?
project NOVA in 1976, HD made a V4 and it flopped!
Harley Davidson says "older riders cannot be considered a continuing market"
HD wants to "reach out to younger and diverse riders"
That's why they are building a V4
So, The bottom line is you older riders that own the traditional air cooled BIG Twins are being thrown under the bus by HD!

I personally haven't heard of HD trying for a V4, but I do know that they are dropping a lot of bikes for 2010. (FXDL, XL883C, FLTR, etc.) They are also trying to appeal to the women riders more than the young crowd. Their whole train of thought is that if Mom will ride a motorcycle, she will be more likely to encourage her kids to do the same.
Harley is also trying to get more towards liquid cooled motors like the V-Rod. My thinking is that in the next several years, all new Harleys will be liquid cooled instead of air cooled.
