Harley Davidson Softail Standard '06. What are the pros and cons of this model? Dyna versus Softail?
depends on the riding you are going to do. just you, or a passenger as well??
the softy looks great, but the dont have the best suspension in the world. the dyna has a much better suspension system. plus the bike both sit differently. the frame design..ie rake, seat height, seat position are all different from one to the other. go down to your local HD dealer and rent them both for a day. see which one feels better to you.
personally i love my fhlt, but i also do alot of long distance riding.

Which Harley Davidson Softail model would you recommend?
Please no buy Japanese Cruiser posts. Their over the top style is not for me.

If you live in a cooler climate, I would recommend the Heritage Classic Softail. It's a great all around bike that comes standard with saddle bags and a quick release windshield.
Now if you live in a warmer climate, I wouldn't recommend a Softail at all. The oil tank is located under the riders' seat and in the summer months it's like sitting on a fry cooker especially if you slap on a custom seat that has less padding.
In this case I would recommend a late model Dyna or FLH that has it's oil reservoir located under the transmission.
When all is said and done, it's really a personal preference. Buy what feeds your soul!
