why do some brands of v-twin 4-stroke motorcycle engines rotate in one direction,while another brand will rotate in the opposite direction.i posted this yesterday and asked it wrong.sorry.
Obviously to go forward the rear tire needs to turn in the same direction on either model. The direction of engine rotation would depend on the intermediate drive, transmission and final drive. The intermediate drive is the method of connecting the engine to the transmission. This could be a belt or chain drive in which the transmission primary shaft and the crankshaft would turn the same direction. If the intermediate drive was done with gears the primary shaft and the crankshaft would turn in opposite directions.
If the transmission uses a standard two shaft set the primary and output shafts will turn in opposite directions where a three shaft transmission they would turn the same way.
The final drive can also make a difference as if it uses a belt or chain drive the wheel and the output shaft would turn the same direction while using a shaft drive the output shaft and the wheel would turn in opposite directions.
If both models used similar final drives, for example both use a belt or chain drive, and both used the same type of two shaft transmission, but one uses a belt for the intermediate drive and the other uses a gear drive, the engines would need to turn in opposite directions.

I'm sure you could sucker someone into buying it for that much. The average retail value is only 5200, but the vast majority of Harleys I see on craigslist are overpriced by a ton.
I wouldn't give up my bike for any car, and there are several that I would love to have. At the end of it all, a car, no matter how nice, is still just a car. There's a thrill of riding a bike that no car can equal.
